HMRC plan free events to help contractors with accounting

HM Revenue & Customs are to host a new series of free events offering advice on topics such as self-employment regulations and VAT changes to small business owners around the country.

Other organisations that will be participating include Business Link, Jobcentre Plus, the Health and Safety Executive and many leading contractor accountants.

The first event will take place on Wednesday March 3rd at Kelham Hall in Newark and feedback from previous attendees has shown that these events are well worth visiting. The final one takes place at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light football ground on July 1st.

The Business Advice Open Days should be of particular interest to anybody considering starting their own business or expanding an existing one as there will be a team of experts on hand to give valuable advice on all aspects of business ownership and key areas of business law and online accountancy.

Although these are drop-in events, places on specialist HMRC seminars should be booked in advance as places are limited. In fact the seminars are so popular that over 90,000 places have been booked in advance since the Open Days first began.

Further information, along with details of available seminars can be found by visiting the HM Revenue & Customs website.
